In this period of uncertainty it’s important to eat, drink and spend thoughtfully, helping out small businesses where possible…
To get you started, we’ve rounded up five suggestions below. You can also follow our Instagram stories for more inspiration.
1. DONATE – Help keep London’s culinary community and the NHS on their feet by donating to relevant relief funds such as these:

Hospitality For Heroes – A non-profit grassroots campaign providing free healthy meals to NHS staff made with locally sourced and supplied ingredients.
Taste are supporting Action Against Hunger’s COVID-19 appeal. The coronavirus is going to have a catastrophic impact on the world’s most vulnerable people, including refugee communities and those living in the poorest and hardest to reach areas that are already struggling with diminishing food supplies and limited access to healthcare.
Click here or text FOOD to 70660 to donate £5 to their urgent appeal. Texts cost £5 plus your standard network rate and Action Against Hunger receives 100% of your donation.
3. PAY NOW, DINE LATER – Purchase a gift voucher to support businesses now. From Supa Ya Ramen to The Cinnamon Collection, there’s lots offering them and some have even included an extra bonus! Go and explore what’s out there…
4. ORDER SOME MERCH – From Bao totes to Oystermen hats, London restaurants have got your wardrobe covered! If you’d prefer a recipe book, there’s great ones out from Sabrina Ghayour, The Quality Chop House and Black Axe Mangal to name a few.
5. SHOP LOCALLY – It’s always a good idea to support your local. But now more than ever our city’s bottle shops like Passione Vino, cheesemongers like La Fromagerie, brewers like Wild Card, bakeries like Popham’s and more could do with your dough.
