In this period of uncertainty it’s important to eat, drink and spend thoughtfully, helping out small businesses where possible…

1. DONATE – Help keep London’s culinary community and the NHS on their feet by donating to relevant relief funds such as these:

Berber And You – Berber & Q needs your donations to supply local hospitals with as much free food as they can make.

Free Food for Londoners in Need –  Lina Stores is raising funds to help provide free emergency food kits to redundant hospitality staff.

COVID-19 Emergency Appeal – Hospitality Action are fundraising to provide grants for eligible workers suddenly facing hardship.

London Restaurant Cooperative – Le Bab has joined forces with unemployed hospitality workers to provide low-cost meals for those in need.

#FeedNHS – A non-profit movement set up by Matt Lucas, Damian Lewis, Helen McRory and LEON to deliver 6,000 meals a day into London hospitals.

Hospitality For Heroes – A non-profit grassroots campaign providing free healthy meals to NHS staff made with locally sourced and supplied ingredients.

Taste are supporting Action Against Hunger’s COVID-19 appeal. The coronavirus is going to have a catastrophic impact on the world’s most vulnerable people, including refugee communities and those living in the poorest and hardest to reach areas that are already struggling with diminishing food supplies and limited access to healthcare.

3. PAY NOW, DINE LATER – Purchase a gift voucher to support businesses now. From Supa Ya Ramen to The Cinnamon Collection, there’s lots offering them and some have even included an extra bonus! Go and explore what’s out there…

4. ORDER SOME MERCH – From Bao totes to Oystermen hats, London restaurants have got your wardrobe covered! If you’d prefer a recipe book, there’s great ones out from Sabrina GhayourThe Quality Chop House and Black Axe Mangal to name a few.

5. SHOP LOCALLY – It’s always a good idea to support your local. But now more than ever our city’s bottle shops like Passione Vino, cheesemongers like La Fromagerie, brewers like Wild Card, bakeries like Popham’s and more could do with your dough.
