The Wild Kitchen

Get green-fingered in the city as the countryside rolls right into Taste of London this June….

Taking inspiration from this year’s Wild in the City theme, the Wild Kitchen will host a variety of masterclasses for those looking how to grow their own in an urban environment and develop new and exciting skills around food sourcing, preservation and preparation!

Get stuck into masterclasses taught by Steven Lamb, River Cottage tutor & Author

Steven Lamb, River Cottage tutor, author, TV presenter and curing & smoking expert will be hosting a number of masterclasses in foraging, meat curing and bread making.

Learn how to grow and use exotic Thai herbs

With the new wave of south-east Asian restaurants settling down their roots in the capital (Kiln, Som Saa, Farang etc.), London palates are increasingly being introduced to unusual and exciting flavours from far-flung corners of the world. In pursuit of authenticity, chef-turned-grower/King of the Jungle Luke Farrell has created a tropical jungle microclimate in Dorset greenhouses to grow a number of exotic ingredients for these restaurants (including scarlet chillies, ponderosa lemons and pea aubergines) and will be joining us to unveil his growing secrets and demonstrate how you can use them to enhance your cooking at home.

Master the allotment with Sustain

For those looking to find out how to grow their own produce at home or in local growing spaces,  Sustain, the alliance for better food and farming, will be hosting a series of talks and masterclasses around allotment beds.

To get involved, head to the Wild Kitchen area to book a space on a first come first served basis. Timetables will be announced soon!!
