Taste Trails: Cheesy Treasures

Are you passionate about pasteurisation? A lover of lactose? You’ve come to the right place! Taste of London has a feast of fabulous artisan cheese producers for you to explore, from mozzarella hand-crafted in north London to the finest artisan cheeses of Spain.

1. Camino

Camino was inspired by a life-changing road trip in the summer of 1984, driving across Spain from north to south and back in blazing heat in a tiny old black Mini. The landscape, the people and the lifestyle made a deep and everlasting impression, and left a burning need to recreate a piece of España back home in London.

Visit Camino to experience Spanish tapas, artisan cheeses, jamón, wine and cava from an award-winning drinks list.

2. Norseland

Norseland is a range of award-winning sweet and savoury cheeses that include Applewood, Mexicana, Jalsberg and Ilchester. Swing by their stand at Taste for samples and cheese deals aplenty

Dzigus are an innovative cheese house hailing from Lithuania, with maturations of Mild (12 months) Piquant (18 months) Delicate (24 months) and Gourmet(36 months). The cheese has a golden appearance and aroma that hints at sweet meadow hay. Perfect for both cheeseboards and as an addition for dishes, you’ll be able to sample and buy at Taste of London.

4. La Latteria

La Latteria produces fresh Italian cheese following the most traditional methods from the region of Apulia in Italy. La Latteria offers the simplest, best quality ingredients coupled with the passion and dedication of artisans who have passed on their ancient traditions of cheese-making for generations.

Throughout Taste of London, La Latteria will be hosting live demonstrations showcasing the process of making artisanal mozzarella, burrata and ricotta. This is a great opportunity to experience the incredible work of cheese-makers every morning, followed by sampling the freshest cheese you will ever have tasted!

5. Snowdonia Cheese Company

The Snowdonia Cheese Company® is based in the picturesque setting of North Wales. They produce an extensive range of coloured wax coated blended natural cheeses, each made using the finest ingredients and with their signature texture and intense taste. Their luxury Cheddar and Red Leicester cheeses are multi-award winning, with Black Bomber® being titled Best British Cheese Brand 2014-2015 by the Fine Food Digest.

6. Grana Padano PDO Cheese and Prosecco DOC

Grana Padano PDO cheese was created nearly 1000 years ago in Northern Italy in the Pianura Padana (Po River Valley). It is produced following the same traditional methods in compliance to strict Production Specifications, becoming the world’s best-selling PDO cheese and one of the most loved products in Italy. Grana Padano PDO Cheese and Prosecco DOC are the main characters of the Italian Aperitivo and, with their charming taste, they spread joy and the desire to be together.

Join wine experts Neil Phillips and Oz Clarke for a series of Prosecco DOC and Grana Padano PDO tasting or take in a demonstration by Francesco Mazzei of Sartoria and Danilo Cortellini, Head Chef at the Italian Embassy.
