Set the temperature to sizzling because the hottest line-up of the summer is here: that’s right folks, the complete chef line-up has landed!
Grab a spot around the all-new Fire Pit Stage and get inspired as the most acclaimed chefs in the capital sear and smoke to flame-licked perfection before your eyes. Gasp in awe as Tom Brown of Cornerstone takes on the Argentine asado, add a Thai twist to your next barbecue with tips from Sebby Holmes of Farang, discover the butchery secrets of Temper’s Neil Rankin, or throw caution into the fire alongside Niall Davidson of Nuala as he roasts whole crab amongst the flames. And that’s just a taster of the delights in store!
Headlining The Fire Pit this summer will be the trailblazing Niklas Ekstedt, whose awe-inspiring open-flame cooking has earned his eponymous Stockholm restaurant a Michelin star and worldwide acclaim. Revered for his re-imagining of traditional Nordic cooking techniques – including building a ‘stone-age microwave’ in his restaurant – Niklas can be credited for leading the open-flame cooking revolution and gastronomy’s rekindled love of back-to-basics cooking.
Also making his Taste of London debut at The Fire Pit will be Stevie Parle protégé Alex Jackson, who’ll be bringing the French-inspired cuisine of his restaurant Sardine to the festival. For a taste of something Indian, Harneet Baweja, founder of Gunpowder, Madame D’s and Gul & Sepoy will be appearing on stage for the first time.
In between adding the final flourishes to her hotly anticipated second restaurant, Kyseri, Selin Kiazim will be stoking the embers with her signature Turkish flare that earned her restaurant Oklava such acclaim. Fresh from the incredibly successful launch of his latest restaurant, Freak Scene, Scott Hallsworth will be adding a Japanese twist on the proceedings with a touch of South Asian Fusion which is not to be missed. Continue the fire-fueled globetrotting with a star turn from Londrino’s Leandro Carreira who’ll be working the grill Portuguese-style.
The star power will be scorching all weekend, as Vivek Singh of The Cinnamon Collection, Josh Katz of Berber & Q, David Carter of Smokestak, Pip Lacey of Hicce, Hus Vedat of Yosma, Karan Gokani of Hoppers and Andy Oliver of Som Saa all showcase their flame-grilling prowess.
