RIGO London – home to the award winning cuisine of Chef Gonzalo Luzarraga. Chef Luzarraga draws on the flavours and tastes of a childhood immersed between Chile, where he was born, the Northern Italian hill country of Piedmont, the coast of Liguria and Spain’s gastronomic epicenter, San Sebastian.
This nomad chef has created a strong bold menu that celebrates seasonality with a sense of drama. Gonzalo brings an impressive pedigree to Parsons Green. Having honed his intricate skills working under Alain Ducasse for three and a half years, Gonzalo moved to work with Walter Eynard at Flipot in Torre Pellice, where he learnt the art of foraging and the importance of seasonal cooking. After a year and a half, Gonzalo joined Le Clivie Ristorante in Piobesi d’Alba as Head Chef, retaining the restaurant’s Michelin star. His cuisine is a contrast of elegance and balance, elevating authentic ingredients and daring flavour combinations that cross cultural borders with a fearless celebration of produce and ingredients.
The complexity of his cuisine is celebrated with a wine list that is sophisticated and robust enough to match with the complexity of the dishes. The 22-seat restaurant is located on the New King’s Road in leafy Parsons Green; a five-minute walk from its Underground station.
The comfortable interiors with well-spaced tables are based on an elegant pallet of mid blues with painted wood paneling and dark wood floors. Glass doors open onto a small courtyard at the rear of the restaurant, perfect for pre-dinner drinks in the summer. Service is relaxed, approachable and attentive, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
