Motu Indian Kitchen

Motu Indian Kitchen, a name derived from the affectionate Hindi term for “Fat Man”, serves indulgent home-style Indian food, paying homage to the British love of a classic Indian takeaway. With a nod to the “dabbawalas” of India, who would traditionally deliver a packed meal for workers across Indian cities in what became known as a tiffin.

Founded by the Sethi family in October 2016, the sibling restaurateurs behind Michelin-starred Gymkhana and Trishna, and the award-winning Hoppers in Soho and St. Christopher’s Place. Motu Indian Kitchen is a delivery only brand and serves unashamedly indulgent home-style Indian food in partnership with Deliveroo Editions. The menus centre around “Feast Boxes” that take inspiration from the traditional tiffins used to distribute meals to workers across Indian cities and British curry classics.

Motu Indian Kitchen currently has four sites in partnership with Deliveroo Editions located in Battersea, Camberwell, Canary Wharf and Islington, with Swiss Cottage set to open by the end of 2017.
