From across the majestic sub-continent and showcasing flavours from the royal kitchens of the North to the fragrant spices of the South, Jamavar London has recently opened its doors in Mayfair.
The jewel in the crown of the award-winning Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, Jamavar London is the sixth restaurant within the Jamavar family and the first outside of India.
Leading the team of highly experienced chefs is revered executive chef Rohit Ghai. Creative small plates, inspired by the street food markets of Northern and Southern India, include Tellicherry pepper and garlic soft shell crab; Crispy guinea fowl malligai and Kid goat shami kebab. Reflecting the essence of its Indian siblings, signature Jamavar curries and biryani also feature. From Rohit’s deep dive into the culinary wealth of The Leela, guests can enjoy dishes such as Old Delhi Butter Chicken, Lobster Nerulli and Sindhi Gosht. From the Tandoor, tempting choices include Gurkha Machhali, a masala whole John Dory, samphire pakora and rustic tomato chutney alongside the Dakshini Jheenga, southern spiced wild tiger prawns with peanut and curry leaf chutney.
Jamavar’s Botanical Garden menu also provides a collection of sip-worthy gin and tonics, as well as other innovative cocktails like the Sam Fire made from Belvedere vodka infused with pink peppercorn, chai tea syrup, lychee purée and burlesque bitters.
Set across two floors, the stunning dining space takes its inspiration from the Viceroy’s house in New Delhi and provides the perfect backdrop to a premium dining experience.
