Cocktail recipe: Glengoyne Mint Julep

Ingredients

  • 75ml Glengoyne whisky cask strength
  • 20ml gomme syrup
  • 3 dash rhubarb bitters
  • crushed ice

Laced with mint and finished with bitters, the Mint Julep is ultimate whisky lover’s cocktail. This twist on the classic by Glengoyne Whisky adds a hint of tartness by using rhubarb bitters, perfectly complementing the cask strength whisky.

1. First, prepare the crushed ice by wrapping ice cubes in a tea towel and crushing with a rolling pin.

2. Next, add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

3. Strain the cocktail into a long glass, half filled with crushed ice. Stir the drink to blend, add more crushed ice and stir again.

4. Add a sprig of mint to the glass and serve immediately.
