Chairman’s Reserve Rum

Spirits

St Lucia Distillers, the makers of Chairman’s Reserve, were recognised as Individual Distiller of the Year by the International Spirits Challenge in 2013.

Chairman’s Reserve, which was awarded the Rum Trophy in the same tasting, is a blend of pot and column still rums from St Lucia, aged in American oak barrels previously used for American whiskey. After blending, it rests for a further 6 months in barrel before bottling.

Chairman’s Reserve Spiced is based on the same high-quality blend of aged rum, it is infused with traditional Caribbean spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and local speciality bois bandé.

The Barnard family first settled in Saint Lucia in the 1820’s and established their distillery gin the 1930’s, by making rum from molasses produced by the island’s massive sugar plantations. The last two distilleries in St Lucia formed a joint venture and consolidated their operations to the picturesque Roseau Valley, creating what is known today as St. Lucia Distillers. With the history behind them, Laurie Barnard took it upon himself to restore St. Lucia’s rum providence and created Chairman’s Reserve, which has re-established the prestige of St. Lucia’s rum culture. Chairman’s Reserve was first blended in 1999, overseen by then Chairman, Laurie Barnard, as a special project to create a fine quality rum that can represent the iconic style of St. Lucian rum.

Chairman’s Reserve Finest St Lucia Rum has been a regular gold medal winner at the leading spirits competitions around the world, and is delicious on its own as well as in classic rum cocktails such as Mojito and Mai Tai.
