BeeBee beeswax wraps came to life because of my real need for a plastic free alternative to cling film and other single-use plastic, something that works really well and looks beautiful too!
My name is Kath Austin. BeeBee started in my kitchen. The amount of single-use plastic we consumed was unacceptable…and growing. A good friend introduced me to the idea that people have used beeswax coated cotton to preserve food for centuries. I felt intrigued to rediscover this old-fashioned art and unearth its potential for the world we live in now. After months of experimenting with different formulas in my kitchen came the BeeBee beeswax wrap.
Nature moves in cycles, and everything created returns to the earth. Nature doesn’t pollute itself, and yet here we humans are, creating billions of plastic destined for landfill and oceans for hundreds of years to come. BeeBee beeswax wraps are made from organic cotton, beeswax, tree resin and organic jojoba oil, all of which will break down on your compost heap and return to nature.
BeeBee beeswax wraps are ethical and sustainable from cotton grower through to production. We have set up our business to reflect our wraps’ credentials by paying our staff at least the Living Wage, we support our bee populations by actively working alongside our beekeeping communities to perpetuate the pollinating population and strive to reach zero waste and low impact in everything we do.
Making BeeBee beeswax wraps beautiful is very important too. Why should the environmentally friendly option not enhance our own surroundings? We have designed BeeBee beeswax wraps to be contemporary and inspiring. Tell us what you would like to see next on your BeeBee beeswax wrap, we want to hear from you! Our team is the core of BeeBee and without these amazing people, there simply would not be BeeBee beeswax wraps in kitchens today.
