Check out the full line-up of our Daily Special restaurants that popped up for one day only at Taste of London. Five venues that are at the forefront of the London restaurant scene, that are causing a stir across every nook and cranny of the media, that have graced so many ‘best of’ lists we’ve lost count. They certainly need no introduction; but we just couldn’t resist.

Meet the restaurants that popped up at Taste for one day only

Portland

What: Giles Coren described it as a “perfect restaurant“, Marina O’Loughlin declared herself “smitten” and Time Out proclaimed head chef Merlin Labron-Johnson was “cooking like a wizard” (he must get that a lot). London went into full swoon-mode at the arrival of Portland, and we’re intending to do the same at Taste of London.
When: Wednesday 14th June
Why: Did we mention their Michelin star?

Bao

What: Bao introduced Taiwanese steamed buns to the capital and quickly won over our hearts and bellies. Their signature baos are soft, pillowy morsels of unabashed flavour, which the Guardian (along with the rest of us) found “utterly bewitching“.
When: Friday 16th June
Why: Skip the perilously long queues outside their restaurants and book yourself in for Taste of London.

Kricket

What: Cult Brixton favourites with a barnstorming new Soho venture that’s currently sending Instagram into 1:1 raptures, Kricket will be presenting their modern spin on Indian-British small plates at Taste to undoubtedly similar applause.
When: Saturday 17th June
Why:There’s more happening on the plates at this down-to-earth venue than a Bollywood potboiler“; well said, Time Out.

Perilla

What: It’s unsurprising that some of the most innovative cooking to emerge this year comes courtesy of a chef with stints at Noma and The Square. Expect impeccable fine-dining-goes-local menus and seriously refined flavours from the Perilla team when they pitch up at Taste of London.
When: Sunday 18th June
Why: Tim Hayward of the FT “loved everything I ate“. We couldn’t agree more.

Stay where you are because we have even more in store for you at Taste! Joining our line-up for the first time this year is Yosma, showcasing their vibrant Turkish cooking, which Jay Rayner confirms is “beautiful to look at, even better to eat“; alongside reworked brasserie classics by 110 Taillevent, the London outpost of the 2 Michelin-starred original in Paris. SeƱor Ceviche will be providing the party: their Peruvian barbecue and pisco sours are the perfect companion for Taste of London sunshine.
