AngloThai marries traditional Thai recipes and flavours with seasonal British ingredients, paired with a low-intervention wine program. This is delivered by husband and wife team - John and Desiree Chantarasak.
When creating dishes for AngloThai, John draws influences from both his Thai and British heritages. The twice shortlisted YBFs ‘Chef of the Year’ spent time living and working in Thailand before returning to his native British homeland in 2014. That same year John helped to launch the much celebrated Thai restaurant Som Saa, becoming an integral member of the team that guided Som Saa from critically acclaimed pop-up to bricks and mortar restaurant, via a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign.
AngloThai is John’s solo project since leaving Som Saa in late 2018, a journey which has seen John collaborate and cook with acclaimed restaurants and chefs throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Canada and North America.
