Chris Bassett, Head Chef at The Quality Chop House

I’ve been a chef from an early age, learning the ropes at a local pub just a few miles from my family’s dairy farm in the Peak District. Since then I’ve worked for chefs including Michael Caines, Stuart Collins and Gary Usher.

Most recently running the kitchen at Hispi in Manchester before moving down to London early last year to work at The Quality Chop House with Executive Chef Shaun Searley. All of these people have influenced my cooking and I’d say the food I enjoy making the most are simple, ingredient led dishes with as much flavour as possible whilst still keeping in mind the provenance and sustainability of the produce.
