Executive Chef of highly acclaimed Jamavar London, Rohit Ghai has forged a highly successful career, having lead several Indian Michelin starred kitchens, including most recently, Gymkhana, Trishna, Verandah in Copenhagen and Benares.
Originally from Madhya Pradesh, India, Rohit began his profession working in many of the finest hotels and restaurants in the region, learning the many regional cuisines of India. An international career beckoned and in 2008 Rohit joined Michelin starred Benares where he remained until 2013. With a reputation for creative flair and exemplary management skills, it was not long until the JKS Group asked him to lead two Michelin star restaurants, Trishna and Gymkhana, where he developed signature dishes reflecting the essence and vision of the restaurants. Eventually managing a team of some thirty chefs across different sites, Rohit became accomplished in all aspects of running the kitchen.
Equipped with a unique passion and ability to combine his experience and love of Indian cuisine with local British ingredients, perfectly blending the heritage of India with the demands of twenty-first century metropolitan dining, Rohit was asked to join the Jamavar family as Executive Chef of their first UK branch.
Having spent months perfecting dishes and travelling around India, he has created an eclectic, diverse menu. Guests can expect small sharing plates with signature classics, such as Kid Goat Shami Kebab, Scallops Bhel, Lobster Podi Idlis, Old Delhi style Butter Chicken, Laal Maas, alongside larger dishes. Traditional desserts have been transformed into works of art with Gulab Jamun Malai, Rose Petal Kulfi and Mango Rasmalai taking centre stage in a vast tasting menu.
