Born and bred in Stevenage, Lee Westcott started his career at the age of sixteen and has worked alongside some of the world’s most innovative chefs, experience which has shaped his signature cuisine of modern European food.
Lee worked under Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens, eventually heading up his eponymous restaurant for two years. He has also worked at Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, Per Se and Noma, and more recently he worked with Jason Atherton at his restaurants 22 Ships and Ham & Sherry in Hong Kong.
Lee has now returned to London in the role of Executive Chef at Typing Room at The Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, which is backed by Jason Atherton and which has been awarded three AA rosettes under Lee’s aegis.
In 2015 Lee collaborated with M&S in an immersive dining experience, alongside Robin Gill of The Dairy. Lee made an appearance on BBC 1’s Masterchef in 2014, and appeared on BBC 2’s Great British Menu this year, gaining some amazing scores for his dishes.
