Founded in 1666 and closed in the 1980s, Truman's was re-established by local beer enthusiast James Morgan in 2010 and, in 2013, our brewery 'The Eyrie' opened in Hackney Wick.
Recently we announced that in early 2020 we shall be moving to an exciting new brewery in Walthamstow, where brewing capacity can increase ten-fold. The new brewery will include a tap room, brew school, street food market, live music venue and artist studios. We brew an eclectic range of beers in cask, keg and can, ranging from traditional amber ales to hop-forward IPAs.
All of our beers are brewed in the signature Truman's style: to be full of flavour and superbly drinkable, from the very first drop to the last. At Taste London we shall be serving our full keg range fresh from the tap: ROLLER IPA, BOW BELLS (Citrus Pale Ale), PALE ALE & RAW LAGER.
At The Festival
Freshly brewed in Hackney Wick, we shall be bringing our full keg range on draught to Taste London:
- ROLLER IPA (5.1%) - An american style IPA, brewed with the finest hops from the US and Australia. A great balance of peach, caramel with notes of stone fruit a piney underfloor and a bitter-sweet grapefruit finish.
- BOW BELLS (4.2%) - With our Citrus Pale Ale we have amplified the natural fruity citrus qualities of the American hops with real oranges and lemons. Our first keg and can special(!), this beer takes all the juicy qualities we love in modern pale ales to the next level.
- PALE ALE (4.1%) - A beautiful light pale ale brewed with zesty hops from New Zealand. Bold, fruity and fragrant, with aromas and flavours of lime zest and fresh floral notes. A crisp grapefruit finish makes this the perfect food pairing beer. True refreshment. SIBA Keg Beer Awards 2017 SE Regional Competition - GOLD Winner
- RAW LAGER (4.5%) - A kolsch-style lager brewed with the Truman's original yeast to give it extra flavour. Traditional German lager hops give floral, earthy aromas and sweet smooth flavours of grape, melon and biscuit.
We shall be personally manning the bar with our small (but efficient) team throughout the week! So pop by for a pint and a chat about all things beer!
