Small Beer Brew Co.

The Small Beer Brew Co. is the world’s first brewery to specialise exclusively in the production of small beer (0.5 – 2.8%ABV). In their quest for quality and fantastic flavour at a lower ABV, rather than resting on experience and brewing know-how, they revised the entire brew process from start to finish designing a bespoke kit that would allow them to maximise the flavour profiles delivered by each ingredient, whilst minimising the alcohol produced throughout the brew. Their mission, truly great beer at a lower ABV. No funny business!

In a world where drinking water could be fatal, small beer was enjoyed in households, work places and even schools across the country. A staple of British daily life in the 1700’s, it was traditionally always brewed between 0.5 – 2.8% ABV. With the provision of clean drinking water in the 19th century, the requirement for small beer passed and the art of its creation was lost. Dedicated to brewing only small beer, Small Beer Brew Co. realised it could maximise flavour and quality to reignite this lost tradition. On tap at Taste of London: Small Beer Lager: A classic pilsner style, Saaz hops give the continental nose complimented by stone fruits on the finish from Mosaic & Galena. Deliciously rich in body, yet a wonderfully clean, crisp and refreshing beer. ABV 2.1% Small Beer Dark Lager: A porter-like nose, soft notes of coffee beans, chocolate & toast lead on to roasted, nutty, fresh finish. ABV 1% New Small Beer release exclusively at Taste! Stop by the Craft Beer Trail to be the first to try the newest member of the Original Small Beer family.
