The unique climate conditions, provided by the Dolomites and the Adriatic Sea as barriers, leads to a temperate climate in which grapes develop great elegance and the best balance within sugars and acidity.
The Prosecco DOC production area includes two regions located in North-East Italy. Veneto Region with Treviso, Venice, Vicenza, Padua and Belluno provinces; and Friuli Venezia Giulia with Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste and Udine provinces.
Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) is the Italian acronym of Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO). DOC protects territories and agricultural products through the disciplinary guidelines which certifies the product’s origin and guarantees its quality. To protect, manage and promote the Prosecco DOC denomination, a specific body named Consortium was founded in 2009. Over the last years, the Consortium invested a considerable amount of resources on two main topics: support and promote the organic wine production and fight against counterfeiting.
The consumers must keep in mind that Prosecco DOC should be served in glass bottles only, never on-tap. The bottle guarantees the product authenticity thanks to the State Mark label on the bottleneck.
