Rainer Becker, creator and founder of Zuma and Roka restaurant Group, was the first to introduce the Robata grill to Europe in 2002. ROKA Aldwych, located moments from the Strand, serves contemporary Japanese Robatayaki cuisine in relaxed and elegant surroundings.

ROKA Aldwych is based around the warmth and energy of the robata grill, located at the heart of the restaurant. Roka Group Executive Chef, Hamish Brown, together with Rainer Becker, have created an extensive menu that features some of ROKA’s most celebrated signature dishes such as Lamb cutlets with Korean spices and Scallop Skewers with Wasabi and Shiso. Complementing the food from the robata is a selection of expertly prepared sushi and sashimi.

The bar at ROKA Aldwych offers a unique cocktail menu that is inspired by Japan’s Yaeyama tropical islands, featuring exotic potions concocted using premium spirits and fresh, island flavours.

The largest of the ROKA restaurants in the city, textural highlights such as porphyry stone, natural tanned leathers, stained grey timber and dried green oak have create a warm and inviting environment to enjoy the award-winning cuisine.
