The 'Tastiest’ of eggs... The most expensive Scotch Egg is unveiled

Not quite a Faberge, but Taste of London unveiled the World’s Most Expensive Scotch Egg today, priced at a whopping £500!

It is not just any Scotch Egg, the tasty treat is made from a Clarence Court Burford Brown egg,  Wild Salmon rod caught from the Callart Estate in Scotland, and covered in layers of 24 Carat Edible Gold Leaf. The sumptuous snack is covered in a generous helping of the finest Imperial Beluga Caviar and served with a Mother of Pearl Spoon (which the diner can keep). Created by Tim Allen, Head Chef of Launceston Place, the mouth-watering masterpiece will be displayed at Taste of London restaurant festival 21-24th June at Regent’s Park.

For a chance to taste the ‘rich’ retro snack, the Scotch Egg will be won at Taste of London next week. Raffle tickets will be priced at £5 each and all proceeds will go to the Jamie Oliver Foundation (a charity partner of Taste Festivals Ltd'). The winner will win a meal for two at Launceston Place, where Tim will cook the golden egg for the lucky foodie. Raffle tickets will be available at Launceston Place stand and the main Taste Theatre in the festival from Thursday 21st June. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday 24th June by Tim Allen.

This year’s Taste of London will celebrate the best of world class cuisine with a host of new international features and the most impressive line-up of Michelin starred restaurants and chefs in its history. If this wasn’t enough culinary temptation, Taste of London can reveal that The Secret Garden will be open at the restaurant festival in London’s Regent’s Park between 21st and 24th June.
